Directed by Kirk Jones, this is a comedy about five couples whose intertwined lives are turned upside down by the challenges of impending parenthood. Over the moon about starting a family, TV fitness guru Jules and dance show star Evan find that their high celebrity lives do not stand a chance against the surprise demands of pregnancy. Baby-crazy author and advocate Wendy gets a taste of her own militant mummy advice when pregnancy hormones ravage her body; while Wendy's husband, Gary, struggles not to be outdone by his competitive dad, who is expecting twins with a much younger trophy wife. Photographer Holly is prepared to travel the globe to adopt a child, but her husband Alex is not so sure and tries to quiet his panic by attending a "dudes" support group.
Starring: Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Chace Crawford, Brooklyn Decker, Ben Falcone, Anna Kendrick, Matthew Morrison, Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock, Rodrigo Santoro
My thoughts on this film: It is a typical Hollywood comedy with some great laughs, teary moments and a happy ending, nothing unusual. If you just want a good laugh, this is the right movie for you, but do not expect anything too fantastic!
Note: This is the second movie I have seen starring Rodrigo Santoro - the first one being "Love Actually" - and remembering him from the Brazilian soap operas I used to watch as a teenager, he seems to amaze me more nowadays, I much prefer this new side to the Brazilian actor.
