The Muppets (Jason Segel, Nicholas Stoller)
Kermit the Frog now lives in his own mansion in Hollywood, The Great Gonzo is a high class plumber at Gonzo's Royal Flush, Fozzie Bear performs with a tribute band called The Moopets, Miss Piggy is the plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, and Animal is at a celebrity anger management rehab centre.
Starring: Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, Steve Whitmire, Eric Jacobson, Dave Goelz, Bill Barretta, Peter Linz, Ken Jeong, Jim Parsons, Sarah Silverman, Emily Blunt, Whoopi Goldberg, Selena Gomez, Neil Patrick Harris, John Krasinski, Rico Rodriguez, Mickey Rooney, Jack Black
My thoughts on this film: The first half was very disappointing. It really seemed like a low budget movie with the Muppets getting together so fast and the whole "travel by map" bit. The songs were really cheesy, appearing in random places making the story a little awkward - they would be doing a scene and suddenly jump into song, nothing like the original Muppets. The scene where Amy Adams is singing a solo at the restaurant also seems like a cheap version of Grease.
However, the second half made it worth it just to watch The Muppet Show all over again. That had to be my favourite part.
I found this to be mostly a kids' movie - in terms of story - while the original Muppets were for all ages.
